The Graphic and Web Design department at Minneapolis Community and Technical College (MCTC) will be showcasing the work of graduating designers during their portfolio show held May 6 and 7.
The two-day design show gives the emerging designers an opportunity to present their best work to potential employers, clients, and fellow designers in exhibition format.
Unlike years past, the show’s identity is communicated through a single typographical character: “&.” The ampersand icon is the symbolic representation of the original title “And,” a theme highlighting the importance of adaptability in an industry of constant evolution.
Graduate Alex Oskie says “& is the culmination of two years of hard work by an extremely diverse group of multi-faceted designers.” Oskie has spent his two years looking forward to the design show while developing his skills as a web designer. “It’s our opportunity to show the industry and the professionals we admire that we’re ready to join them,” said Oskie.
Oskie is one of 40 emerging designers that will be featured this May. Admission to the event is free and refreshments will be provided. For more information, visit www.mctcdesign.com.
