Envisioning the Ends: A Concert, Celebration, Community Activation

Sound-Arts-concertThe MCTC Sound Society student club, in collaboration with MCTC Student Life and local and national activist organizations, are excited to present Envisioning the Ends, a free celebration, concert and community activation event that will be held in Loring Park on Thursday, May 7. The concert will feature some of the area’s finest bands of young performers coming together for the purpose of envisioning the ends of all ongoing American civil wars and violent conflicts between American communities. This concert is about peace, hope, and not being afraid to stand up for them.

Music runs from 2:30–8:30 p.m., and the concert is free. Please share this with your communities!

Early Winter Choir Concert

MCTC will present an Early Winter Choir Concert featuring the MCTC Concert Choir and Vocal Ensemble on Dec. 10 at 7:30 p.m. in the Whitney Fine Arts Theatre.

The concert, directed by Dr. Elizabeth Pauly and accompanied by Christopher Wolter will include compositions and arrangements by Ruth Morris Gray, Michael Praetorious and Alan Naplan, among others. The choirs will be joined by guest artist percussionist Thomas Reimer. Songs will be sung from all over the world. A reception in the Fine Arts lobby will follow immediately after the concert. Light refreshments will be served. Children are welcome. Admission to this concert is free, but the choirs ask that you bring a non-perishable food donation that you may deposit in the marked bins outside the theatre. Food donations will go to the Hennepin County Emergency Food Network.
