High Tech Boys SocietyThirty students from four Minneapolis highschools–Roosevelt, North, Henry and Edison–came to MCTC on Thursday, March 10 as part the High Tech Boys’ Society.

On this “Career Pathway Day,” 11th and 12th graders learned from faculty and students in four technical programs at MCTC: welding; machine tool technology; construction and electricity; and heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVAC).

MCTC faculty members Todd Bridigum, Kim Munson, Dean Weikle and Greg Skudlarek helped plan the day. Their students worked one-on-one with the high school students.

The Minneapolis Public Schools runs High Tech Boys’ Society in partnership with MCTC and other colleges and organizations to provide an opportunity for male students to learn about the latest trends and best practices in the high-tech industries.

MCTC partners with the High Tech Boys’ Society several times a year to offer trainings, workshops and career exploration for participating boys in this program.
