TRIO Starting Point staff and students attended a Minnesota Lynx basketball game on Wednesday, July 29th. The Lynx played the Los Angeles Sparks. The walk to the Target center was wonderful due to the beautiful weather. It was a close game that came down to the last minutes, but the Lynx pulled off a win 82/76! Fun was had by everyone who attended. Our very own Delores Roberts made an appearance on the Jumbo-Tron. It was an amazing night, Go Lynx!
TRIO Starting Point staff and students visited the Minnesota History Museum’s We Are Hmong Exhibit on Tuesday July 11th. The fascinating exhibit commemorates the anniversary and celebrate the significant political, social and economic contributions the Hmong have made to Minnesota and the nation. We are Hmong Minnesota explores the stories of Hmong Minnesotans and their journey from Laos to Minnesota. We experienced the profound impact the Hmong have had on their adopted homeland in the last 40 years. We also explored other exhibits at the museum like the 50 years of EBONY Fashion Fair, gorgeous, and Then Now Wow, what a journey MN has had! We made Hmong money bags, visited the gift shops and had a delicious lunch. Sib ntsib dua (Goodbye!)Tags: Student Activities, Summer
